Gaming Your Way

Here's a new old game

It seems the NFL Rush site has opened up the game section, which is cool as I can actually show you some work now.

My favourite of the bunch was the first one I worked on, Gameball Maize Maze.

I think this was only my second iso game, it's not a display system I love, but I'm pleased with the depth sorting on this, it's pretty solid, and I love the art style so much.

As a game I think it works pretty well too, it's more for the younger readers out there, but it did all come together nicely ( There are some blog posts about it's development from way back, this one in particular should make a whole lot more sense now ).

    That's actually rather nice.
Although there are lots of things that are praiseworthy in it, one of the best things were the keys.
Whilst having to press 2 keys to move in any direction is a little counter-intuitive - I always find I go the wrong direction in iso-games, which ends up getting you killed, getting you frustrated, making you stop playing.
If I ever do an iso-game - I'm theifing your keys...

It's quite good isn't it, I'm quite happy with the end result, it's a fun little game with lots of little things I like.

I wish I could take credit for the controls, but they came in the GDD. On paper I was like "wtf ? That's so wrong" but they work perfectly.
